"If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world." — C.S. Lewis

Snowing in Williamsburg, January 30, 2010

Just a few backyard photos during the January 30 snowstorm.
The birds and at least one of the dogs loved the snow.

Cape Charles, Virginia

We discovered Cape Charles, Virginia recently. It is a quaint beach town just across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It has a sort of Norman Rockwellish feel with victorian houses and shops.

We went to the beach near the fishing pier. We saw some guys "bottle fishing." They wrapped fishing line around a bottle and used it instead of a rod.

It was a very nice surprise discovery and will definitely be a place we visit again.

Ocean City, Maryland

In July we managed a quick trip to Ocean City, Maryland. This is a place we spent a lot of time visiting through the years and one we really enjoy. The weather was beautiful!

We enjoy the kites on the beach. The Kite Loft always puts on a great display.

There are carnival like rides, including a ferris wheel, on the boardwalk in case you need a break from the sun, surf and food.

Sand sculptors routinely build intricate designs along the boardwalk.

My World Tuesday: A Few Colonial Williamsburg Photos

This is one of MANY beautiful gardens in Colonial Willliamsburg. This picture was taken last winter, I will try to post some wonderful spring and summer photos of the Colonial Gardens.

This is the Governor's Palace. It was home to seven royal
governors, like Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson.

This is the Colonial Courthouse in the Historic District.
It was the home of law and order in the 18th century.

We love walking down the middle of Colonial Williamsburg in the evenings, it is such a beautiful place to live near. We will post a lot more pictures of Colonial Williamsburg, but if you can't wait until that happens, visit their site

This has been a post for My World Tuesday, another wonderful site.
