"If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world." — C.S. Lewis
We discovered Cape Charles, Virginia recently. It is a quaint beach town just across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It has a sort of Norman Rockwellish feel with victorian houses and shops.
We went to the beach near the fishing pier. We saw some guys "bottle fishing." They wrapped fishing line around a bottle and used it instead of a rod.
It was a very nice surprise discovery and will definitely be a place we visit again.
In July we managed a quick trip to Ocean City, Maryland. This is a place we spent a lot of time visiting through the years and one we really enjoy. The weather was beautiful!
We enjoy the kites on the beach. The Kite Loft always puts on a great display.
There are carnival like rides, including a ferris wheel, on the boardwalk in case you need a break from the sun, surf and food.
Sand sculptors routinely build intricate designs along the boardwalk.
